Assuming you are non VA Gold or Platinum and planning to access a VA domestic lounge, the answer to your question is unfortunately, no. She will not be granted lounge access. Business class guest on VA are not entitled to any guest allowance with the exception of infants under the age of 2. She is welcome to purchase a day pass at the lounge for a 2 hour maximum visit, but that is subject to space. I have found that they are particularly strict in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane where the lounges can get very busy! I've even tried to exceed my Platinum guest allowance a few times by asking very nicely. Its never worked. I've been told that they need to pay as that was the whole point why they introduced the day pass scheme for these situations. One person tried to buy a day pass at the Perth lounge in the late evening where its quite busy due to all the red eye eastbound flights and she was turned away. You may however have some luck getting her in at a more regional based lounge such as Mackay, Cairns, and Alice Springs.
If you would be inclined to buy a day pass for her, you should consider first upgrading her ticket to J if the price isnt too far off from the Y ticket. That way, she'd have all the Business benefits etc and increased points & status credits. Yet if she holds a saver fare, then it may not be worthwhile especially on short flights.
Best of luck!

Yes! It's either we're both in J or both slumming it in Y. Not the best feeling knowing your significant other is living it up, while you are packed like a sardine.
