Hi Will, we appreciate that you are trying to help, but we ask that readers only respond to questions when they can provide a fact-based answer as opposed to a personal hunch that may or may not prove correct. :)

We've not specifically amended it to the comment policy if that's what you're asking TRB – we've simply had a lot of short "not sure", "pretty sure", "maybe" and "no idea sorry" answers lately from a number of different users which don't really serve to answer questions (this being a Question & Answer area) and which could provide other users with the wrong idea.
We love it when users share their informed opinions, but in the same token wouldn't want a newcomer to read a thread and assume the wrong information is in fact correct when that information isn't yet known.

I'm not quite sure that approach is consistent with the principles of an open user forum.
The market can decide what information is finds useful and conversely reject responses that are inappropriate.
I should hate to think that we've come to the point where people should be protected, no matter how naive they are.

As I said above TRB, we've seen an increasing number of users responding to questions lately with one- or two-word responses that neither answer the question properly or 'add value' to the discussion. Rather than just delete that above (which I'm happy to note is the first time Will has responded in that way and we've deemed a good-intentioned reply from a new user), I've taken the the time to share what we'd normally look for in a great answer – and that's fact or reasonable logic as opposed to opinion unless the question calls for it.

I respectfully disagree. But if that is the direction this site is taking then so be it.

A shame we couldn't agree on this occasion TRB but I do respect your opinion and that you've expressed it as feedback.
All feedback – either positive or negative – is invaluable to us as AusBT continues to grow in both readership and engagement, and while we do what we can to create a 'happy medium' between AusBT policy and user discussion, we appreciate that there will be times when our approach won't always be agreed with by every user. :)

TRB - can you please show where Will was lambasted

I think it is unfair to lambaste Will.
Taking other examples as precedence, it would not be inaccuarate to suggest the situation in DPS would be unlike other ports, where Qantas does not operate its own lounges.
To that end, I should imagine the term "Pretty Sure" would not be wholly inappropriate.

Indeed when explained in the way that you've done, but "pretty sure" on its own, posted by a relatively new user, provides no context or background and ultimately comes across as a personal hunch or guess rather than an opinion based on fact.

Hi Hayden,
No, there is definitely no complimentary lounge access at Denpasar, unfortunately. (This is irrespective of a paid Qantas Club membership, or a high-tier QFF status membership).
The "Premier Lounge" at DPS airport has pay-in access (roughly AUD $30).
This is the same lounge that JetStar Economy Max and Business Max fare customers are entitled to use for free, so if lounge access is important to you, you may wish to consider flying JetStar. Their business class airfares are a particularly competitive offering from Australia to DPS airport (with surprisingly generous FF points and status credit earn rates).
Cheers!

Hi Jay,
Thanks for that. I know that there is no QC access at DPS at the moment, however, as per all QF international flights, the ports in which they fly to do offer QC access.
I am assuming it is a matter of time until QF announces lounge arrangements

Hi Hayden,
Not all Qantas international ports provide lounge access to QC subscribers (Papua New Guinea, for example, has no lounge).
In bygone years, a contract was in place between Qantas and the "Premier Lounge" at DPS airport (mentioned in my comment above), thus one might be optimistic that that relationship will be reinstated for the duration of QF's seasonal flights.
As Chris has identified, nothing announced in regards to a change of arrangments "yet", but this could well be on the horizon.
Cheers!
