I've never flown business on a longhaul flight so i just don't know - will their baggage arrive *earlier* than economy folks on the carousel? or does everyone right up to first class STILL have that most-annoying part of the trip: the wait for the luggage?
in other words: wondering whether i can have 20 minutes more sleep before heading off to pick him up :P.

In theory, yes, his/her bags should be among the first off the plane and onto the carousel. But that's not always the case, of course!
If you've got an iPhone it might also be worth using FlightAware to check the flight's arrival time – or even just entering the flight number into Google - in case it's running late, that might also give you a little extra shut-eye.
Personally I'd not risk being late to pick up someone for an extra 20 minutes of kip! :P

Unfortunately frenchglen it doesn't look like you can sleep in for an extra 20 minutes. Business, First class passengers along with Platinum and Gold Frequent Flyers get priority baggage.

In theory, yes. In reality, not so much! I think it depends on the baggage handlers. I suspect some thing that fancy-ass First and Business types should have to wait the same as the others! Airlines would cite 'factors beyond their control' if one complained, probably.

Hey Frenchglen, will you come back tomorrow and let us know if you got your extra 20 minutes sleep in, and if your friends flight was on time and baggage out first?
