The Qantas website seems to have gotten a facelift. Must have hired the guys who did the Gmail facelift. Big on white spaces and grey buttons, on the whole looks very similar to before, not particularly beautiful. What do others think?
Hi spinoza, I'm unsure who designed it, but I'm pretty sure its either Hans Hulsbosch (who did the kangaroo tail and upgrade back in 2007/2008) or Marc Newson (who did the Qantas First Lounges and A380 seats). I did hear that it was aimed to be more user friendly and give a "contemporary design." What most people are realising is that designers are ditching small 3D looks and going to more simplified designs, so that should explain the top bar under the Qantas logo. The old pictures, I believe, will be replaced with newer ones soon. I personally think it looks alright, but then you compare its competitor Virgin Australia (who used Hans Hulsbosch as well).
You must be joking, James. Hans is now the creative director for Virgin, so no way could he do ANY work for Qantas, and Marc Newson design a website? The bloke's flat out with lounges and furntiture and everything else, you really think he's going to sit down with Adobe CS5 and design a website? These guys are serious designers, they wouldn't get down to doing a website! PS How can you say that you are "unsure who designed it" but at the same time be "pretty sure" it's either Hans or Marc?
