Qantas Lax First Class Lounge
Hi Guys, I will be traveling to the States in November and will reach the magic 1400 status credit mark just prior to my flight home. From previous experience with US domestic flights it normally takes about 3 days for the status credits to show up in my account so technically I'm not platinum until the credits show in my account. Will I be allowed entry into the Qantas Lax First Class Lounge if I show staff proof of my recent flights or do I have to put the tail between my legs and head down to the Business Lounge? Has anyone else been in this predicament?

On the LAX front, from personal experience and working directly with the QF lounge staff, you unfortunately will not be granted access into the First class lounge if the credits have not posted in time. Those status credits are everything in proving your status and until they magically appear a few days after flying, you can't argue your way in otherwise. It doesnt hurt to ask and have your flights as evidence with an itemised totaling of credits factoring them in showing that you ultimately have reached 1400. However, with the range in fares and different ticket types, the lounge lizard keepers' aren't well read on the accruing of points and credits in the QF scheme. It is actually quite comical how reliant they are on the charts and policies that are given to them. In other words, if its not written down, its not happening.
I empathise with you greatly because it can be unnerving when you dont know if your status credits and points will post in time for something important.
