Earning qantas status credits on AA domestic flights.
Good morning to all.
Qantas calculator punches out the following numbers.
PDX to ORD in first 120 status credits (one way)
PDX to DFW in first 120 status credits (one way)
DFW to ORD in first 90 status credits (one way)
My question to everyone is, if I purchase a return ticket, PDX to ORD in first via DFW (1 stop flight) will I earn 240 status credits or 420 for having taking that detour via DFW?

So long as each segment has a distinct flight number, then separate SCs - so 420 SC most likely for the returm

That's about $2.05 per SC. That's not bad value....
Hang on! That's bloody awesome! It works out to just under USD 2,500 to retain QFF Platinum (1,200 SC) or just under USD 2,900 to gain QFF Platinum. Blimey!
Are you for real??? What's that routing?

I could not believe it myself. Thats why I had to ask the question about the amount of status credits earnt for those particular flights. It just sounded too good to be true. Platinum here I come!
The routing is very similar to the above route but with one minor change. You're a smart cookie I'm sure you will figure it out.

Hahahaha...keep your cards close eh?
I've checked and the inventory is in P. QFF considers this, for AA ticketed flights, to be First Class bookings. Consequently these would earn SC at the First class rate.

Got an even better one! Only catch is you have to fly Y.
$681-$700 USD will net you 810 Status Credits or close to it. I'm not sure if the deals are on at the moment but use matrix and do a calendar check. HNL-LAX-DFW-MIA-BAQ-MIA-DFW-LAX-HNL is the routing.
Platinum and Platinum one can easily be obtained!!!
TheRealBabushka would this intrest you?

I know, but you can get platinum by flying JQ, QF. Take a JQ or QF flight over to HNL and back then 2 segments are done. For platinum you only need another 2 on QF or JQ metal. Take a short trip to MEL!

Just a quick clarification you will earn 420 SC.
This is why SC runs take the most in-direct route to get to the destination, maximizing your SC/$

How do you check and book this Tom? Through aa.com or using another tool?
I assume when booking aa.com you just include your QF FF# and the SC come through automatically, or are there traps?
