some people really need to get their facts/figures correct...as stated already..there are 6 (SIX) a/c.... 3/6 = 50%

One aircraft is currently undergoing a refit, leaving 5 in active service. 3/5 is 60%

When you're talking probability and chances of getting a new fit out its quite illogical to include inactive planes. Basic common sense mate

Does anyone know what registration the newly fitted A330's are?

I'm trying to see if my flight 555 tomorrow 15th Oct  is in the new seats.

Rod, VH-XFD, XFG, XFJ (to my knowledge). Can you see in advance what aircraft is scheduled for VA555?

Thanks but I have just found out much to my disappointment it's not the new config. It's the 2:2:2  .

I was really looking forward to this but will have to now wait until my return flt. from Perth on Nov 30th which is with the new config------  hopefully !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How did you find out it wasn't?

I've got me + 3 others I've "promised" will be the new for SYD-NAD this Saturday... may need to do some adjustment to expectation setting. Did you call VA Customer Care?

Away withmike.

Yes, I called Velocity  Gold Desk and asked them to check the config. If it is 2:2:2 then it's NOT the new one which is 1:2:1  . Velocity Glod desk went into the system and told me it was 2:2:2  I planned this whole trip so that it would be on the new one and was told a while ago it was but to my dismay it is not now.

Good luck with your booking.

sadly (but i still laugh), people book flights expecting the new j/c, DURING the refurb programme...do these 'savvy' travellers not realize things/aircraft can change...VA(airlines) NEVER PROMISE a particular a/c on a particular flight/route etc..it's the PASSENGER that creates their own expectation/s

It does not require one to be a rocket scientist to realise that is the case but when one finds out that weeks before it was NOT scheduled to be in the new config  having already  told it WAS is rather frustrating. From what I recently found out this flight was always scheduled ( for quite a while anyway ) to be the old config . If I had known that I would have asked for the schedule that showed it to be the new config but as we all well know it can change anyway but it would have been nice to have been able to try. Given that VA has 50% refurbished the odds are better than QF so I would have stood a fair chance of getting what I would have liked but this way there was no option given.I am NOT complaining , just stating my disappointment in something that could quite possible have worked for me given correct information that was available. For engineering purposes this flight  could even be downgrded to a B737 but that is fate! It would have been nice to be offered a later flight tthat was the new config but I was not given that option ,that is a shame in itself.
