I'm curious to know if, when I have redeemed points for a flight, the airline staff I come in contact with (eg check in, cabin crew) can tell. Does anyone know if this sort of detail is "flagged" in any way?
Yes check in staff will know as they are able to sight the inventory booked and other details, which indicates if it is a revenue or award booking. This information is also used to decide operational upgrades, where award bookings are ineligible for upgrades.
I don't believe cabin crew are able to see that level of detail. As I am aware, they would see your FF status but not the type of ticket you are flying on.
