Hi,
I have just changed my QF from LAX - MEL to a day later in first class. As a result, most of the good seats are taken. I mainly like to fly 3A or 3K when in first class. The only available seats are 2F, 4F, 5A, 5F and 5K. I am leaning towards 2F only because ive never flown in the middle row in first class.
Just after any advice on flying in the middle row first class and which seats should I choose or not choose?
Cheers

There is an article on here about the best seats on QF First (well, there are really no bad seats on QF First). If I were to choose based on what's available on your flight my preference would be in the following order: 5A, 4F, 2F, 5K, 5F

Indeed there is: The best seats in first class on the Qantas Airbus A380
I personally like 1A as you're served first which means you can go to sleep first, but depending on your frequent flyer status, you may not be able to select that until closer to departure.

5A would be my preference, i know it's closer to the galley but it's still quiet and less foot traffic due to only the A row having isle access.

I agree. I prefer 4A and 5A on the A380. In my experience, which seems to be reflected in other comments from travellers, the suites at the front shake a little with the foot traffic of people walking up and down the aisle. Sitting further back means less of it.

hi Tom, from my own experience, I would avoid 5F - the suite in the centre at the back row of the First Cabin. The seat is located directly in front of the Galley. Directly behind and above the seat there must be a fridge or some other piece of Galley equipment - the result being that there is a most disturbing 'whiring' noise like a fan being switched on and off several times every minute. It is most disturbing if you're trying to get some sleep. All other suites are excellent. One other thing I find is that the meals service on the Oz -USA leg is so much nicer than on the USA-Oz return. I guess the return flights out of LAX and Dallas are mainly a night flight whereas the departure from Australia MEL and SYD is around lunch time/mid afternoon. cheers.
