Personally I would go for the EK lounge which should be open at that time as it prepares for EK A380 flight to Dubai later in the evening. Food and beverage quality has always been high and there are good views over apron.

Yes assuming you're flying QF or EK, the EK lounge is better than the QF business cave lounge.

Does anyone have the opening hours for the EK lounge?

This was from my last visit in February – the timing may change +/-1hr when daylight savings isn't in action:

Thanks people! Also I tried to find a review of the lounge options for QF or EK travellers below the levels that qualify you for F lounge access at MEL and couldn't find anything on AUSBT. Perhaps this could be rectified in future?

Hi flyerboi, as with every major airport we're slowly working our way through the lounge reviews. Melbourne is an awkward city to review internationally as AusBT staff are based in Sydney and Brisbane and have to 'detour' to get this done, although so far this year we've managed to tick off reviews of the Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand lounges and have a review on the way of one of the international lounges accessible to Qantas Gold frequent flyers – of which there are four, so it gives us plenty more to do with each trip.
