As QF Platinum if I use my points to request an upgrade for my parents from J to F, and they are on the same flight as me, but on a different booking number, does the request I make for them carry my Platinum priority? FYI they are currently Silver FF

I had a similar scenario when I upgraded my family to business class using my FF points, but I was on a different booking number. The easiest thing to do is call Qantas, and get them to link their booking number to yours, and then use your points to upgrade them. It wasn't a problem. That way they definitely will get your platinum priority, which is important if you're trying to upgrade on an international flight.

Thanks, and I checked with QF, and yes even though they promote it as a benefit to Platinum One, the benefit applies for Platinum as well. i.e. notification up to 48 hours prior to departure!
