Will Qantas fly to Dubai with Emirates? I am so surprised at what Qantas is doing. Scrapping alliances/codeshare flights with British Airways, Air France and Cathay Pacific for Emirates. I was wondering if Qantas will fly to Dubai with them
Yes, Qantas will be flying daily between Sydney to Dubai and onto London, and Melbourne to Dubai and onto London. More or less QF1/2 and QF9/10 are switching from stop in Singapore to stop in DXB. Emirates will continue their usual services. This means that Qantas passengers heading to any of Emirates 33 destinations in Europe that are not Heathrow will swap onto an Emirates codeshare. Which rules out the need for a Cathay or AF codeshare.
QF/BA/CX will all still be part of the oneworld alliance, so you still will be able to get S.C. and FF Miles while flying one world alliance partners... the only difference is you wont be sold a QF flight, and be flying on a BA aircraft or vice versa... QF will still have aircraft flying to London, via Dubai instead of singapore.... not such a bad deal i see... gives you more choices to fly direct into more european destinations on Codeshare flights with Emirates.
