I'm not having any success booking 1 seat BNE to LHR Business or First for August 2016 using "Miles".
Can see loads of flights and when I go to purchase I get the message 'the flight you selected is no longer available. Please modify your request.'
Have modified my request till no flights are shown, have emailed AA and phoned them 4 times. Their reply is that Qantas hasn't released the flights yet! Is this possible?
This has been ongoing for a couple of months now. Have even purchased the training from the AFF Knowledge Centre for some helpful hints.
Can someone help me please?

Qantas releases seats before AA. For August next year, I'd say it'd now be difficult to find availability on Qantas to LHR in premium cabins. If your using AA miles to fly Qantas I am not sure whether you can actually book onto an QF code operated by Emirates, which reduces your options... someone may know more about that than me??
But I can see availability, at least once a week, if you fly Cathay to HKG and then onto London (i'm using QF search not AA).

Emirates QF code share are not available for AA redemptions from my experience...have never seen one. I've had that issue when attempting to redeem first, but no such issue fro business...

Sign up to BA Executive Club and look for availability for all points ex BNE to LHR with CX, MH, QF, BA, UL and QR. Be creative and try to search various routes using on or a combination of carriers. Don't bother trying to find availability with Qantas for a through flight. You won't have much luck.
Once you locate availability call AA and get them to make the booking free of service charge.

Hi, I am seeing the same issue. I did manage to book a BNE - SYD - LHR on QF1 this week in Business for Feb. surprised that didn't error. AA has heaps of availability showing for first but yes it says 'no longer available'. I noticed that when I went to choose an earlier departing flight from BNE that error came up also. It's like they have incorrectly listed availability or anything QF 99% comes up no longer available. BA looks ok most of the time.

A simple search on the Qantas website shows heaps of bus/first availability on Qantas from BNE-LHR for August 2016. Not sure why AA cannot see it. Ring multiple times. I too had difficulty with AA seeing QFawards, even though I could clearly see them on Award Nexus and the BF sites.
You other option is to search Etihad - AA partners. Go to Etihad site 'book with miles' and do a search. Break the search up BNE-AUH AUH-LHR for you best results. AA seem to be able to see Etihad 'guest seats' then book those. Etihad First is nicer than QF first in my opinion. Business about the same.

Might be worth trying from SYD as they have their own metal flying the route. QF are not really a live option from BNE>>>LHR
