Does VA still waive the GCC fee for things you can't do online?
I need to make a change to a multi-city booking, SYD-MEL-PER in Flexi, as it turns out I'll be in Perth at the start, not Sydney. Online it says it can't change a multi-city booking and I have to call the Guest Contact Centre. But there is a $35 fee for this. I remember once years ago I had to change something that I couldn't do online and they waived the fee. Do they still waive the GCC fee for things you can't do online?
What would be the option with the lowest fees? Get a refund on that sector, ask to have it put into the travel bank and rebook, or ask them to change the SYD-MEL sector to PER-MEL directly and pay the difference? (I intend to upgrade using points, if that makes a difference)
Also, annoyingly, on the website next to the GCC phone number it says the GCC is available 24/7, but when you call them a recorded message says they are only open M-F between certain hours Sydney time.

Theyr'e supposed to waive the fee however some operators treat this as a personal attack more than giving customer service, so ask first and if they say no HUACA.
