Hello all and best wishes for the new year! Just wanted to see if anyone could better help me understand a recent lounge decline I had. I was flying from SHA to MFM using China Eastern in economy class. I am elite level (FRECCIA ALATA PLUS) level with Alitalia which is a Skyteam member like China Eastern. I was allowed to check in through the business class counter but when it came to using the lounge was declined and very rudely so. Given the terrible reviews I'd read on the lounge I wasn't that concerned and walked away but wanted to know just out of curiosity if I should have been allowed in? My understanding was that you are allowed in sky team lounges as long as it's an international flight.

By rights you should have been allwed entry. I am Delta Skymiles Gold as well as Alitalia 

I was recently in CAN flying to BJS with CZ in J they directed me to the lounge. 

Last year (October)  I flew CAN - PVG in Economy and I still was allowed access to the lounge. 

I had no issue when flying China Southern accessing the supposed lounge using my ALATALIA card.

Walked in grabbed a drink. Walked out.
