Can someone clarify Admiral's Club Lounge Access for a Qantas Gold FF/ Oneworld Sapphire when travelling DFW-MIA and MIA-SJU? Is it only AAdvantage members excluded or ALL OneWorld FF?
https://www.oneworld.com/ffp/lounge-access
American Airlines AAdvantage® members, regardless of their tier status or class of travel, are not eligible for lounge access when travelling solely on North American flights within or between the U.S., Canada, Mexico (except Mexico City), the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean.

Damien,
Yes it is only Aadvantage members who are excluded. As a QF Gold you can still use the lounge when travelling on a domestic only bookings with AA.

Damien,
the lounges are ok but the food selection is very limited as is the on board tucker in first. Rather basic.
Mostly snacks dependent on the journeys distance
If you have a Diners Card it can be fun to try out other lounges on your outbound international journey
In LAX for example there is the Skyteam lounge which isnt bad but QF is much better.
Last year i was granted access to the American lounges and was was just Silver, still dont know why.

The last time i used the lounge with domestic AA bookings, they provided me with two slips for complimentary drinks and then the rest you have to pay for it (i think they might have provide 3 for Platinums). This was in 2014. I will be doing this again in April. If you are travelling prior to that, you can tell me your experience, otherwise i can update you.

I just returned from the US and used the Admirals Club in DFW. As a QF Gold, I was given two free drink vouchers.. as for the rest of the drinks... we had to pay. Cheers

Same here. When I was last in the Admirals Club in 2015 they provided me with 2 drink vouchers.

Yep same at DFW in June last year. 2 free drink passes as QF Gold. Lounges are not the greatest so level expectations. Tired and overcrowded....

Basic drinks are now complimentary in the AA lounges, albeit they still seem to give other oneworld elites vouchers which can be used on Premium drinks. Tipping the bartender seems to be the done thing.
The few Flashship lounges (Qantas Platinum/ oneworld Emerald only) generally are self-serve alcohol

What's the deal when it's an AA Flight Code but Alaskan Airlines metal?
