Hi all,
I noticed that last night the Emirates A380 from Auckland to Sydney was diverted to Melbourne, from the flight path it seemed to be close to Sydney at the time. Wondering if anyone had any info on this.
Cheers, LTF

According to the Theeksource;
Emirates A380 A6-EDE operating the Auckland – Sydney sector of EK413 Auckland – Sydney – Dubai diverted via Melbourne this evening due to weather at Sydney. The aircraft arrived into Sydney too late to be turned around to depart before curfew and so will overnight at Sydney and operate EK415 Sydney – Dubai tomorrow.
Emirates A380 A6-EEP arrived into Sydney as EK414 from Dubai this evening, however instead of overnighting at Sydney the aircraft took over the Sydney – Dubai sector of EK413 Auckland – Sydney – Dubai, which had earlier diverted via Melbourne due to weather. There was insufficient time to fully cater A6-EEP before curfew at Sydney so it operated Sydney – Melbourne – Dubai as EK413D

What a joke the Sydney curfew is, Australia should get real and be open for business.
