Has Finnair upgraded the Business product on its 340s on SIN-HEL (last article suggested it might). Also note it now flies 350s double daily BKK-HEL

On checking airlineroute it looks like SIN-HEL is shifting to the A350s from Apr2016 with daily services from Aug2016

AFAIK Finnair not planning to upgrade their A340 at all. Instead they plan to replace them with A350. Thus all A340 will have rather outdated and non-inspiring business seats that lie-flat.

I don't understand how all of Finnair's A340 business seats are outdated - they are quite good and most seats offer direct aisle access, which is better than many airlines still with business seats that don't have direct aisle access.
In terms of their remaining A340 fleet, the Finnair website lists only one plane left (OH-LQA) with the old 2-2-2 business seats.... with the rest all fitted with the newer staggered 2-2-1 / 1-2-1 configuration.

Are you sure that you talking about A340, not A330? New A330 IMHO is the best product, IMHO better then CX style seats that they plan to use in A350. Last time I flown BKK-HEL in A340 (less then a year) they use old layout when window passenger has to jump over aisle one and seats though fully flat was angle ones.

I have a check and seatguru believes that all A340 in Finnair fleet have old layout. Finnair website says that only one has old layout. Go figure.

I flew on their A340's (NRT-HEL) and (HEL-HKG) last May and both flights on different aircrafts had the refurbished business seats that's the same as their A330's.
You must have been unlucky enough to score one of their un-refurbished A340's... which they now only have one left in their fleet....

See http://www.ausbt.com.au/finnair-upgrades-to-new-lie-flat-business-class-seat
Fortunately it now appears that Finnair has finally retired their tired old ex-Air France A340s –
OH-LQF & OH-LQG. Their active aircraft OH-LQA, seems to be their oldest A340 (ex-Virgin Atlantic and now 21 years old!) and as a result does not appear to have been destined for refurbishment.
But their other active A340s have been refurbished – refer http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/finnair-finnair-plus/1501119-finnair-fleet.html and http://www.finnair.com/au/gb/flights/fleet
