China Airlines Melbourne to Christchurch flight gives me access to Qantas Business Lounge, (1st Floor after Customs), is that up the escalator next to the old Emirates Lounge, or do QF have some other facility that is called the QF Business Lounge. I thought the QF Lounge next to Emirates was the Qantas First Class lounge.

Qantas have both an International Business and International First lounge in Melbourne.
I suspect you will only get access to the International Business lounge on a China Airlines flight.

The Qantas business lounge is located on one of the floors below the departures gates, next to the Silverkris lounge if i'm not mistaken. The Koru Club is the level below that. There's escalators and elevators (going down) to the left and right, immediately after the duty free shop in the middle of the circular departure lounge area.
The lounge next to the Emirates lounge is the Qantas First lounge.

sgb,
It's a bit of a dungeon but much better than the CX, NZ and MH lounges there.
What are you doing not flying EK!!??

Well, I don't do single aisle overseas flights, hate them, it's wide body or nothing. Dear old EK don't go from Melbourne to Christchurch, and I only need the south island this time, so that's what I'm doing. Quite looking forward to it. Shame it's only seasonal service.

On the China Airlines website it says the QF Business Lounge is on the 1st floor, Terminal 2, after Customs, was really hoping for that position rather than down stairs. Guess they got that wrong in translation.

The departure concourse is really on level 2, so the floor below that (as you go down the escalators) becomes level 1. The Qantas website says the same thing.

Good thinking, that is correct. In which case, the QF First and Emirates First and Business Lounges are really on level three.
