International travel for 16yr old alone.

Has anyone had any experience with Singapore airlines sending there child on an international flight alone with Singapore connection.

I am quite confident my child will be fine at 16 but was hoping for any reassurance.

I can speak from experience here as I am quite young and have travelled on SQ when I was 16. You will need to have completed the Unaccompanied minor form (For both legs mind you) which can be obtained from the website.

I personally recomend not choosing the assistance as I am independant (travelling by myself since i was 13) and dont like someone following me but it depends whether your child feels that they want to be helped. SQ are normally pretty good when it comes to helping UM's and the crew are always nice.

My child is a seasoned traveller internationally, he would only be doing one way alone.

I think he should be fine I am just worried if they miss the connection.

Mind you he be happy staying overnight by himself I am sure!!

If he misses the connection don't fret, SQ will rebook him. Just one note, if he is departing from Australia (In either J or F or even if he has FF status) he will not be allowed into any of the lounges due to liquor licencing laws, he should however recieve compensation due to being unable to access it. 

The main thing is the Unaccompanied minor form as SQ will not let him board without it!

Can I ask where he is flying to/from?
