Non reconfigured 747, Flying Qantas Haneda -Sydney later in the year. At time of booking the seat map was reconfigured 747. Checked today, now 1-2-1 old FC downstairs. Are they still using the older F seats.

Yes. The seats are unchanged, albeit will be 'refreshed' sometime this year.
VH-OEB (one of the two aircraft) has just positioned to HKG for maintenance so this may be occuring now.

Mind you, the old F seats on the 747's are still a very good seat IMHO. They were the original flat bed and with the new duvet cover you will end up with a pretty nice bed. The only downside obviously is the IFE is old and clunky

You cant be certain of the config until you check in. Seat map was showing old 747 config up until the day prior for my flight out of HND in Jan.
If it does change you'll get a flat bed anyway so enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the info. When I booked the old first class seat map came up when I enquired with Qantas (as I thought these planes would not exist post mid 16) the agent informed me that the new sky bests had been installed, I thought sweet, new BC seats in a 1-2-1 layout, what a score. The seat map then changed down stairs to the 2 and 2 (new config), so i moved to the exit upper deck. The plane must have changed again and back to the original seat map.
I normally do not get bothered when planes change as often it is for the better e.g. old config AB-300 to the new sky suite, older 747's to the to the refurbished ones. When it goes from new to old it would be nice of Qantas to let you know. I also seems that when this occurs linking booking seats also change, when I checked I had been reallocated some random seat upstairs and my partner and daughter were move back downstairs due to their status.
So there are only 14 flat beds on this plane the rest of BC in on the sky bed 1. It is a case of first in first in first served. I have flown this config a few years back both in BC and F, more recently I have only been on refurbished 747's did not think Qantas had any planes left with the sky bed 1.
All sorted now all in row 2, although I did have to call to get my partner and daughter in this section with me.

Yes there are just 2 that did not get the refurb. Plan A was for them to have have been retired long ago. As per moa999 comment QF recently announced a 'refresh', which leaves the seating configuration as is. If you have adjusted the seat allocations to your liking, you will need to watch for further changes. I had about 3 on a NRT-SYD some years ago, including one within in a week of the flight.
