Is it widely considered that the order for such things is down to status or revenue versus award bookings? As opposed to just front to back.

Not sure with QF but with VA on international flights as a plantinum status holder I always get my meals first

Vegetarian/Special request meals seem to be served first even in Business.

QF do tend to prioritise status passengers.

Whenever I order a meal through the QF Select on Q service I find it usually out first.
Guess it makes is easier for flight crew to get those people settled with their meals and not having to wait for other people to dither over their choices as the trolley makes its wait down the aisle.

Agree and aligned with my personal experience with many carriers re the meal service sequence across J pax.
If the pre-ordering of J class meal function is available online and I hv selected it before checkin, 99% time I was served ahead of other J pax who hv not done pre-ordering on the ground.

May have been a high proportion of staff or duty travellers. Commercial passengers always receive a priority.
