If your slightly more flexible with airline and dates then AA have a promo on for bonus miles when you purchase some
I'm going from Brisbane but Brisbane -> Sydney -> Dubai -> London (all on Qantas) and back London -> Hong Kong -> Brisbane (First leg on BA, other on Qantas)
That all in Business Class can be had for $4400

Hi Henrus, I hear lots of good comments on using AAdvantage, so keen to learn more. Was that $4400 just to buy points, or was there some comination of points and fees ? USD or AUD ?

A return ticket from Sydney to London using AA points is 170,000 points (or 85,000 points one way)
Currently to buy that many points its US$3245 which in Aussie Dollars is $4296. The taxes would roughly be about $500 so I should have written $4800 but it depends on the airline as ba taxes are more than qf and cx ones.
