Hi All
This may seem like a very long winded question, however when it comes to these things I cant help myself in trying to get the absolute best set up.
I am currently a Gold Elite with Krisflyer and I have no real interest in going away from this, I tend to fly with SQ no matter how appropriate the route is â which is probably silly but I have always been looked after.
What I am trying to do now, after being a ANZ rewards card holder for many years is find a new card. I have AMEX business platinum and AMEX personal direct with Amex due to the intro offer of 150K points, but I now need a Visa/MasterCard to use for non Amex transactions and I donât care who issues it so long as the points/rewards transfer to Kris Flyer well (or velocity so I can then pass over to KF).
I was considering either platinum altitude with Westpac and or a Citi bank product? I probably wouldnât go the prestige with Citi due to the annual fee (already paying 1500 with the AMEX). I am also not too fussed with hassle of transferring to Kris flyer via Velocity if it is beneficial. Westpac also has no additional card holder fee so I can issue the visa to wife and other people for everyday spending and is 1:1 with KF.
CBA have an offer for their cards with 80000 rewards which essentially ends up being 32K on KF but the ongoing earn rate is not as good (I donât believe as altitude or citi), however my mortgages are with CBA so no annual fee, which really only saves a few hundred per year but it is a good starting point
I like the high points intro offers but they should also have good spend to earn ratio
Would anyone be able to display the arithmetic for say and compare the below
Westpac Platinum Altitude to krisflyer (40,000 Alt points sign on) no additional card holder fee, so can pass a few cards around to get visa spending up and annual fee waived in first year
CBA Diamond and Platinum to Velocity and then to Krisflyer (80,000 CBA rewards sign on) no annual fee as part of wealth package, but pretty sure the earn rate to kris flyer is poor â maybe offer will expire by the time resolve this issue also!!
Citibank Signature (70,000 sign on) and CitiBank Platinum (60,000) to krisflyer also no idea about citi as a provider/product?
If there are any other people out there who like to get as much as possible for KF please let know, keeping in mind that these cards will be mainly used for everyday spending and non Amex transactions..
Cheers
Brett

Check out this article:

Currently have Westpac Krisflyer card but don't think they offer it any more and the earn now is very low. Looking to change, probably to Westpac Black Amex.

Thanks Rob01. Did look at the Westpac black but Westpac currently offering 40k altitude points for new customers which is 20k KrisFlyer miles so would probably go with that
Interestingly enough I called Anz to close down the rewards platinum as they have reduced the points earning only to be offered the black for the same annual fee as platinum....
Still unsure Citi, Westpac or stick with Anz black
