10 hr daytime layover in kul with 2 kids - advice about bag drop and things to do please. Friends flying mh to kul then air Asia to mel. They have 10 hrs at kul. Is there a bag storage area, I doubt air Asia will allow early bag drop? They were thinking of catching a cab to sunway pyramid. Any other suggestions?

Plenty of time to get in to town - either 45 minutes in a cab or about 30 on the KLIA Express train to KL Sentral, where you can get the monorail in to KLCC (KL CIty Centre). probably best to head to KLCC Suria Mall under the Petronas Towers where you can head up to the observation deck, and the kids may be interested in the Petronas Science Museum there too.

Keep in mind that MH and Air Asia use different terminals and the terminal that Air Asia uses, KLIA2, exists solely to confuse people. Cabs tend to take much longer especially if you are on the road on the evenings or on early mornings so if your arrival time falls on those time frames, I'd say take the KLIA Express. Once you are in the city centre, the KL Towers would be a nice attraction for the kids. Plenty of shopping malls around as well.

Sorry for the double reply. There are bag storage facilities at your departure terminal. They are next to the exit area of the Domestic Arrival Hall. A company called Talasco Dadang if I remember correctly. You can rent a locker in 24 hour blocks or have them store the luggage.

Also consider Batu Caves and Putrajaya, the planned government centre (a bit like Canberra with lakes and grand buildings and bridges)
If wanting tickets to Petronas Towers do it online as they often sell out on the day
