Is the terminal connector at TBIT at LAX (to T4) available yet for international arrivals into LA? International pasengers departing LAX can now use the terminal connectors on the airport's south side which is very convenient if coming to LAX domestically and then transferring to an international flight but is it working yet in reverse? Or are they still requiring passengers to exit security and re-enter at an adjacent terminal.

No.. They need to open a separate security check first before you can stay entirely airside.
You should be able to exit at TBIT and then reclear security at TBIT however.

No, and it never will be. If you arrive at TBIT and want to go to T4, you have choices:
1. In TBIT you are processed by Immigration, collect your luggage and be processed by Customs (and can put your checked luggage onto the transfer carousel if relevant).
2. You can now enter the street and walk around to T4 and go through security.
3. Or you can re-enter TBIT by exiting to the street and walk upstairs to Arrivals, go through security, and go to the QF or other lounge in TBIT, and when you're ready you can use the terminal connector to walk the 10 min path around to T4. My experiences this year is that the security lines at TBIT are much shorter than at T4.

Thanks guys. Most helpful.
I presume that on our return trip (ANC - LAX - MEL) when we arrive at T6 on Alaska Airlines we stay airside by using the connector thus avoiding the necessity to go through security. Do you go through immigration when you leave the States?
