Hi all, I have a few flights coming up with BA this summer where I transfer through LHR in T5. (One from Sydney and the other New York) can I get duty free in either New York or Singapore? I wasn't sure if you have to go through security again while transiting in T5 to a ba flight to Ireland.
So it depends on which part of the journey you intend to buy duty free. If it is items that are not liquids or if liquids less than 100ml you can buy whatever whereever.
If you are considering buying liquids above 100ml you can take these through the Flight Connection Centre at Heathrow as long as they are in the sealed security bag with the receipt. That said on your flight SYD-SIN just ask the cabin crew to confirm. If OK buy in Singapore as you will not be eligible for duty free alcohol at Heathrow as you are connecting to another EU country.
Duty free sales in Singapore close 30 minutes prior to departure.

I do not think you can transit liquids (alcohol) if it what you asking about.

My first instincts is no since you have to clear security at T5 before joining other passengers at departures to carry on your journey.
