Yes you will earn SC and points on NZ flights to US. Just make sure to add your Velocity number when booking the flights. As VA Platinum, you will (usually) be treated the same as top tier NZ frequent flyers. Also make sure to keep all of your boarding passes just in case points and SC are not credited to your Velocity account and you need to make a retro claim.
I flew AIr NZ to SFO through AKL (from BNE) and returned from LAX via AKL to BNE last month. I got both status credits and points on my J booking. However, i dont think you get cabin bonus or status bonus points. Try their burger (truly delicious) for dinner!

I am a velocity Platnium member and am looking at flying Air New Zealand To the US from Sydney.
Will i earn Velocity Status Credits and points on this booking or not?
I have been trying to find some information regarding this and nothing has come up.

I believe the answer is yes you will. Like you would on Etihad, Singapore Airlines, Delta etc

It MIGHT only be points difference not Status Credits.

NZ and VA don't codeshare on trans-Pacific flights.
