I have always found DL's Food to be the best of the bunch but it stops there.
I have had both really good and really bad with UA
I have never experienced AA.

I havent flown either American or Delta trans-pacific, but it appears to me that the product of American is miles ahead of the other two.
As has been discussed recently, the product of United is way below par - avoid.

VA hands down the best service across the pacific. Just tried the new "the business" product and the whole experience was truly outstanding ( and i have flown many of the best airlines in J and F). Have a read of the AUSBT review of the VA business

I would fly with Hawaiian Airlines via Honolulu. I have flown the route many times with Hawaiian in both their Business and Economy class, and have never had an issue. Even when connecting to a domestic flight to LAX. Honolulu international airport Custums and Immagration os much smaller than LAX and so much quicker if you want a fast seamless trip through to your final desination.

The benefit to Hawaiian is the evening flights from Sydney and Brisbane.
I've done a flight that left Brisbane at around 9pm and got over to Honolulu at 11am that same day. The next flight than left at 1:05pm for San Francisco (they also have LAX flights) and I was into SFO by 9pm that same date. The 3 hours on the ground in HNL was fine as it gave me the chance the stretch my legs in the open air terminal.
