Has VA started to cost cut on food for economy passengers?

Arrived back from LA on VA2 on Sunday.  The food that was served in economy was awful and seems to have changed since 1 June.  Dinner was something they called Chicken and a little desert, snack was about a half size pastie and breakfast was some egg wrap and a muffin and not even served on a tray.  Flight over to LA was late May and food was OK.  Anybody aware if VA are starting to cost cut the food they give to economy passengers?

They use different catering companies at LAX and in Australia, so the food (on any airline) will always depend on the catering arrangements they have at the departure airport.
