If you are flying AKL-SYD-LAX you probably also have access to the F 'cupboard' in AKL (its a pretty small lounge) with slightly better catering. But as Patricka340 says the EK lounge is probably superior, but only open for limited hours in the afternoon.
The Emirates Lounge in Auckland outshines the QF Lounge in terms of food choices and i suspect liquid refreshments. There is a You Tube video of the EK Auckland lounge although it was filmed sometime ago
There is another choice available with the Emporer Lounge and certain credit cards give you free entry for the Cardholder otherwise you have to pay
You will walk past The Emporer Lounge on your way to either the QF or EK lounges just past the Duty Free
