VA Business as Economy. Short flight from Syd to Ballina.
Noticed the passengers sitting in business class seats were economy or flexi paying customers. There was no food service on this very short flight plus no barricade between J and Y.
Can someone enlighten me with this? Who has access to these seats and how?
I've been "upgraded" to those seats a couple of times. As you noted, the service is the same as economy. It's just a bigger seat and probably a way to even out the load, especially on the embraer. Tends to be gold and plats who get offered the front seats.
On short flights were J pax is little or non existant VA generally allocates the J seating to Club, Plat & gold members of velocity first before allocating them to Flexi Ticketed Pax.
