I've just booked an economy flight MEL to PER for a date in November. For my flight there are business reward seats available on that flight. I've booked and paid for an economy seat and requested an upgrade immediately.  In the past this has resulted in the upgrade being awarded immediately. For this flight though, the upgrade status is still "requested". And yet there are still business reward seats available on this flight.  Has the way QF award these upgrade requests changed? I thought as long as there was a reward seat available to book with points, that meant an upgrade seat was also available.

Thanks

Just cancel the request and try again if you believe there are at least as many award seats available as passengers on your booking, or call Qantas to have it actioned over the phone.

Great advice! Thanks Chris. I just cancelled the upgrade request and resubmitted it and it was confirmed straight away. Perhaps I should have waited a couple of hours between making the booking and requesting the upgrade initially.

Thanks agan.
