Since I've been a VA member, I've always gone up or down, but this is the first time I'm going to maintain a level. The question is do I have to earn 400 SC at any time before the review date, and once I hit that 400 I'll have a new review date (which is the case when going up a level), or do I have to have 400 ON the actual review date. I'm asking becuase my review date is 1 August, I'm sitting on 420 SC right now, and on Tuesday I'll have 460, BUT in the week following that I'll lose 80, so I'll be back down to 380 on the 1st of August.
Even though I will have exceeded the 400 during the qualifying year, I will be just below that on the review date. Can anyone tell me if this means I will be renewed or if I will miss out?
My understanding is that you need to EARN the 400 in the membership year. It sounds like you won't have done that, since some Status Credits are disappearing before the review date (meaning they were earned in the previous year).
If you login to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account, on the My Account page you should see a section "Additional Status Credits required to maintain Gold". If this number is 0 it means you have re-qualified, otherwise it will tell you how many extra you need.
Correct - login to your Velocity Account and it shows on the My Account page (which is usually the one you are taken to when you log in) how many status points you need by your review date.
Thanks for that everyone. It says I still need 60 (I'll get 40 tomorrow on my flight home) so I'll be 20 short by the 1st of August. I thought I was well and truly over the line to maintain, but it seems I'm just under - so no gold for you!
