Qantas Dubai Connect - anyone used for hotel stay?

I'm on QF1 Sydney to Dubai, arriving at 00:25, then connecting onto QF 9 Dubai to London, departing at 09:05.

I've been able to book the Dubai Connect service (hotel room at an airport hotel).

Has anyone used it?  How long to clear Immi and get to the hotel?  Saw a review that said 2 hours.  And then when would I need to leave the hotel to get to my 09:05 flight?  There may be little use in getting the hotel?  I do have First Lounge access and can use the rest/day beds, but you can't really stretch out and properly sleep.

I have done this connection a few times, and have another one coming up in a few months. I have always been at the hotel within an hour and a half of landing, usually within an hour. This is with fast track customs and not collecting any luggage. You would normally leave the hotel 2 hours before departure, which would give you about an hour in the first lounge before boarding. All of my trips have been in premium cabins, so may be different if you are in Economy. I found the six hours in the hotel much nicer than the long wait in the first lounge, and the arrival time in London better to allow you to check straight into your hotel.

Thanks.  I'm guessing then I can be in a bed in the hotel by 2am, and then leaving the hotel at 7am.  So it should be a good solid 4 hours of sleep.

I'm flying Business (with a points upgrade to First on standby).  So I may well sleep a lot on the flight to Dubai anyway, and stay in the lounge awake, and then sleep again Dubai to London.

I have done the same trip and it is certainly much better staying in the hotel than resting in the lounge. The hotel is not that great but the bed was comfortable enough. Skip breakfast in the hotel, maximise your sleep and have breakfast in the first lounge
