I have used it and redirected to bestjet for the actual booking had no issues
flight appeared on my qf bookings list within 15 minutes of confirmation
I guess the main point is be careful of who it redirects you to and make sure you are comfortbale this is a real travel agent and willing to give it a go.
I have used edreams as well and no issue, if you are lookin for the cheapest fare beware they are really impossible to contact and impossible to change prior to departure. if booking lcc airlines make sure you understand probably no baggage included etc

Yes, totally agree. I have been redirected to Zuji, Helloworld, byojet.com.au over the years. All satisfactory and cheaper than many other sites.

I have never booked through Kayak, but interestingly I could have booked Qantas J tickets SYD-LHR return for 2 people with the standard 2 hour or so at DXB for around $5000 less than the Qantas site, but looking further the site said it doesn't guarantee point awards when entering FF details. I presume Qantas would still give status credits and points though?

Chirsor check the class of booking and call Qantas prior
I did that for a SYD NADI LA cheap business return flight
and it all checked out and was credited

Kayak is an aggregator, rather then an online travel agent (OTA) unto itself. That is, it will re-direct you to the actual people who will sell you a ticket. Just be careful that they're a legit site, cause the more rogue they look, the higer chance of getting scammed.
I normally look for an ABN or an address or some form of contact details or even the types of deals they've got on offer. As the old addage goes, 'if it's too good to be true, it's probably cause it is'.
There's also apparently a new app coming soon called Hopper which is supposed to pretty good at predicting airfare price changes.

Thanks for all the feedback . Yes - hopper app is alreayd out - and does prompt when flight pricing comes up. I was trying to secure a J class flight for $900 BKK>MEL for a few days but overnight it went to $1800 - hence I was checking the vailidty in using Kayak.

You might find Cheapoair on Kayak and they lied about currencies and charged extra $1000 so watch out for any of those sites.

Kayak is my absolute first 'go to'. It's just a search engine at the end of the day that allows you in one search to get the lowest price from hundred of sites.
The only thing I would suggest is when you click to redirect to the selling site check the flight details very very carefully. I've done a search for Business Class flights on Kayak which has returned an amazing fare, clicked on the link, yup, flight times dates all match - but then I notice that on the selling site it's actually for economy.
Just check and double check before you click 'buy'.

Try to avoid Orbitz. Last year I bought a simple ticket from them, (NYC to MIA return on DL economy) and they charged me for two one ways rather then a return.
That means I got stung for fees like credit card and international transaction fees twice. My point being, if they are offering a very cheap fare, they may be making back the difference somewhere else.
