Sorry, posted that too quick. I seem to be getting ambiguous answers and VA plat line was uncertain and said flat out no. Has anyone been given access to the Air NZ lounge as Velocity Platinum when travelling in Y class on a HA code SYD-HNL. While the website says NO, interested to see if anyone has been given access as old posts on forums indicate some have been. Thanks readers!

How timely you posted your question.
As a VA Platinum I've just recently flown on HA to HNL in Y on an HA flight code.
The website claims that for VA Platinums access is to the "International Business Lounge" in Sydney that is operated by Qantas and the Hawaiian Premium lounge in Honolulu but only for VA codeshare flights. However if you look at the access rules for VA Gold, it says access is to the Air NZ lounge in Sydney and the Delta SkyClub lounge in Honolulu.
Needless to say I was refused access to the QF International Business lounge in Sydney and the Hawaiian Premium lounge in Honolulu.
On returning to Sydney I reported the inconsistency in lounge access for VA Platinum & Gold VFF members.
Just this morning I received a message from Virgin regarding lounge access when flying Hawaiian Airlines:
"Hi ............., thank you for your ongoing patience. The team have confirmed that both Platinum and Gold Velocity members can still access Delta's SkyClub Lounge in Honolulu and Air New Zealand's Lounge in Sydney when travelling on Hawaiian Airlines. Please know the website will be updated to reflect this information. I am truly sorry for any inconvenience and the misinformation supplied on the website. Thank you."
The response is quite positive but it remains to be seen if the above response is in fact honoured by Air NZ & Delta. If you've got an HA flight coming up I'd be interested in hearing how you made out with lounge access.
