Flying to NY next April, Air Canada is offering the cheapest prices and also quickest flying time (economy) from SYD. Just wondering if anyone has flown this route before? its via YVR and then connecting to Newark. How does International transit work in Vancouver?
AC has rolled out a new cabin layout on the 777 which is sadly 10 across so it's pretty tight in there.
The transit is pretty easy as the SYD flight seemed to arrive at a quiet time. The connection was seamless and one of the fastest i've done. I wasn't heading to the US where I believe they have a pre-clearence however.
Thanks for that info! Thats re-assuring to know that the connection is fast and easy because the connection time is only 1 hr and 40 min, quite tight. Also a shame to hear about another airline going 10 across.
The connection to the states is very easy. No customs or immigration no canada. Just look for signs to America pre clearance. I was through in 10 minutes! 1.40 will be fine. Nice airport to transfer via, and so nice to arrive as a domestis into the states
I transitted through YVR goign to LAS about six years ago so not that current. It was a quick transfer but I was taken into a room to verify by camera my luggage.

Vancouver airport has pre clearance, very handy being able to walk off like a domestic passenger once in NY.
I'm not sure if you'll have to collect and recheck bags, given how the pre clearance is setup I'm guessing the answer is no.
