Katathani Beach Resort
Hi all,
We stayed at this resort last year and loved it.
We were planning to stay again in Jan 2017 so I contacted reservations directly and asked them for a quote, reminding them of a Scoopon deal that is around at the moment.
They said that they would match the deal and have sent me a formal quotation.
When about to book they have changed their minds and over tripled the price.
In my opinion they should honour their quote, not happy and it is now unaffordable to us.
The reservations team are hopeless and I have asked to speak to management, let's see what happens.
Anyone had this type of experience with this resort.
Very disappointing experience, I am not normally one to go on these sites and complain, but I am old school and a quote is a quote and should be honoured.
Thoughts ?

I agree quotes should be honoured. But unless the contract is signed, nothing is set.
Imagine how uncomfortable it would be now if you pressed the issue and they relented. Do you really want all that negative energy swirling around during your holiday?
Go find another resort and avoid this place. I don't think it was a very honourable thing what they've done, even if the person who quoted you in the first instance had no authority to offer that price. The hotel should have just taken it on the chin for having poor delegation of authority practices in place - and learn from it next time!

How long between receiving the Quote and then actually going to make the booking ? If there was a delay in booking, the resort may have filled up, and occupancy would then dictate pricing.
