Could anyone please provide advice on how to book a specific fare class on Qantas,
Ideally I am looking for an online booking service that allows me to always select Y or YQFLEX as the economy travel class.
I'm frequently booking economy "Flex" tickets only to discover on the day that I'm travelling that I can't select an earlier or later flight because my ticket is only flexible within a particular fare class for which there aren't any seats available.
The way Qantas has explained it to me is that if I'm travelling on a Flex ticket in class Y or YQFLEX I can switch to any flight with an available economy seat regardless of the fare class of the available seat.

A Y class SYD-MEL will set you back close to $700 one way.
