My parents are flying to Canada on Air NZ on a 777 next year. I flew on them a couple of times myself before PER-AKL became a 787 route, but I was on my own so I had a window seat. I can't remember if the centre pair has a divider that can be lowered for chatting. Can anyone tell me if they do, or are they better sitting on opposite sides of an aisle?
No. There is divider that can be lowered for chatting.
The Business Premier is in herringbone seating configuration. There is a ottoman near the aisle where a person can seat and talk to the passenger in the seat.
See Air NZ B772 seating plan - https://www.airnewzealand.co.nz/seat-map-boeing-777-200
I would suggest, that your parents are seated together in the centre section.
Am in Vancouver having flown Air NZ business. No partion cannot be lowered in centre seats. I would recommend they sit in front of each other on the window or in the middle. I find the middle seats have better view out than window seats which face away from window.
