Are there any unpublished benefits for Velocity Platinum? I noticed there was an article on unpublished benefits for Qantas Platinum?

As far as I'm aware, there are no unpublished benefits for Qantas Platinum members. Perhaps you mean Platinum One?

I'm sure many platinum velocity members would have different opinions on some of the possible 'unpublished' benefits of having platinum status based on their experiences. Here are a few of mine, (it's worth nothing I went from gold to platinum very quickly, so never really experienced if some of these are 'gold' status offerings):
- Ease of switching flights at the airport, regardless of fare (not like the standard T&C's suggest)
- Automatic row 3 assuming your flight is booked 2 weeks in advance. Less than 2 weeks beforehand and you may lose out.
- Upgrades to business if your original flight is cancelled (maybe I've just been lucky with that)
- 'Flexi' meals when on a saver fare - but this only seems to happen if there is only a couple of plats on the flight
- Newspapers are sometimes offered to platinum guests before the rest of the plane (when they are offered at all!)
- Quick response time when you call the call centre, and direct 24hr contact to a 'customer experience manager' if you have previously lodged a complaint.
That's a few I have experienced, I'm sure there are others, and maybe people disagree with some of the above?

I was told more benefits will be given to Velocity Platinum members as the current situation has hardly any difference between the Gold and Platinum statuses. When I got moved up to Platinum, I noticed little change, so I called Velocity and they say more benefits are coming. That was about 1 month ago.
I'm not sure of the new benefits, hopefully some of the ones 444desiro mentioned!

I have found using the call centre much easier as a Platinum compared to my partner's experience as an entry-level Velocity member. Platinums seem to get the better staff on the phone who seem to have the ability to better deal with any issues on the spot.
I also received great service on long haul international Virgin Australia flights when travelling as an Economy passenger. The cabin manager came and introduced herself; took our meal orders (only from the Economy menu though...), brought us Express cards, and also set aside a row of 3 seats for me so I could lie down for a sleep. Really appreciated that one!

aero-seat, the 10x multiplier on domestic fares is a big benefit imho

Yes, good call. Some of the points totals you can achieve on a 1hr flight are very pleasing!

Similar experiences to 444desiro particularly the flyahead scheme when travelling on saver fares at peak periods.
Definitely more amenable to Platinums.
