I was hoping someone could shed some light on something for me. I am booked to fly EK152 from Copenhagen to Dubai on Thursday 8 December. I will be flying economy. This route is typically serviced by the two-class A380 with an economy section on the upper deck.
I had chosen a seat on the upper deck. I just logged in to review my seats and have found that the aircraft being used no longer has the upper deck as an option. (I had chosen 28K on the upper deck, now I'm on 44K lower deck).
Does anyone know why EK would have changed the aircraft? I didn't think they offered First class on this route. I must say I'm really disappointed.
Airports do overtake seating allocations, but it's a bit early for that. Most likely emirates took over seating allocation and moved you. Most likely not a very full flight so no need for passengers on the top deck. Could always call up about it or just keep an eye on for if they open it back up.
theve done that with us on that route before - if not full then they 'close' upper deck to economy just having business at the back - our inlaws have had that happen too when they left us in adelaide going back to copenhagen as we had them booked on the upper deck and then changed to downstairs being unable to change them back to upstairs
After searching seatmap on seatguru it says the same as Grannular. However after searching other two-class flights they all default to the three-class seatmap.
Odd that they don't sell first class, odd that they haven't announced anything. Could they be down on two-class a380's and just use a three-class as cover ?

Interesting, thanks for your insights. I never considered the fact they might close down the upper deck if the flight isn't full.

Based on expertflyer, this looks to have been changed to a 3 class A380, with First not being sold
