Does anyone know if Air NZ allows early check in at LAX?
I'm booked on NZ5 from LAX to AKL in May 2017 departing at 10.30pm, but I need to be out of my accommodation by early afternoon and unfortunately I cannot store luggage anywhere as Iâm not staying at a hotel. Iâm hoping that I can check in early so I donât have to carry my big suitcase around town all day.
Iâve done some research online and there seems to be mixed results. Some says check in will open 3 hours before the first NZ flight from LAX on the day (which is the 5pm NZ2 to London, that means check in counters will open from 2pm) and I can check in for all NZ flights on the day from that time including the evening flights to AKL. However, others say that check in counters may not be staffed all the time and after each flight, the counters are closed until 3 hours before the next NZ flight.
Does anyone know what the earliest time I can check in for my evening flight? Would the check in counters open and staffed all afternoon from 2pm until the last NZ flight? Iâd hate to turn up at the airport not being able to check in and left stranded with my luggage.
You could request the hotel to hold onto your luggage whilst you head out and travel the city and return to the hotel, pick up the luggage and get a car/taxi/uber/lyft to LAX.
If it was QF and you were WP or better, check in would be available any time the counters are open. Otherwise, it would be no. So if you have status with NZ, perhaps. There are luggage storing services close to LAX.

I don't have status with NZ but I am VA Gold and NZ recognise that. Also I'm flying Business so hopefully that helps.

Perhaps try LAX Luggage Storage?
