Hi All
I've recently booked AA Domestic First Class tix through AA and normally the booking code is considered First Class - however, this time the booking codes (I and D) are Business Class. I know that the flights I'm on is 2-cabin, so it can only be in First (and my seats are in First), however, will I receive QF Status Credits/QFF Points based on a BC fare or First fare?
I've booked many times on AA First and always received credits as travel on First, but this time it is strangely different.
Please help, as I have more flights to book and wonder if I should book a different fare type etc.
Thanks in advance all!
Please wait...

From 11 Jan 2017 all AA Domestic First class on 2-cabin service will be sold in J,D,I inventory. AA has chosen to fool its customers by insisting on referring to these as First Class.

I live in the US and travel AA and United first regularly. It's what they call the premium cabin here, like they call economy 'coach'. But for all intents it's the same as Australian domestic business so the change makes sense. Or even less (e.g. no lounge access unless traveling international).

AA has been changing fare codes in order to create space for premium economy. Thus they have changed domestic 'First' codes to those normally used for business. (Which is what QF has always used for domestic US codeshares)
