Anyone know what type of plane Virgin Atlantic uses for Sydney to Hong Kong flights? I think it's an A330 but just to make sure.

It appears that it's an A340-600 for tomorrow's flight, so I'm inclined to think it's usually the A346.

I can second Wezza, I travel Virgin Atlantic Sydney to Hong Kong every 2-3 months and it is only and always the A340-600 with the 3 class layout. Upper Class in front, followed by premium economy and then economy. Unfortunately the Upper class isnt the brand new upper class that is being used on the London-New York run. Hopefully newer planes will be deployed on this route soon.

It is an Airbus A340-600 aircraft. This does the LHR-HKG-SYD route. Since Herringbone layout in Upper Class is 1-1-1 i would reccomend that you are seated in 'A; row so there is no one looking in at you. Agree with 180mis, I do hope the new dream suite makes its way to Aussie (and a Clubhouse would be nice too)

Yep, definitely an Airbus A340-600! Check out the best seats to pick in the Virgin Atlantic section of our Best Seats guide page.
Virgin Atlantic's CEO Steve Ridgway told me back in May that the plan is to bring the Upper Class Dream Suite-equipped Boeing 787 to Australia fairly soonish. Asia's likely to get it first, though -- for various reasons including the amount of time the plane sits on the ground at Sydney.
And, of course, you can find all our Virgin Atlantic stuff, including my (seriously) in-depth stuff on the new Dream Suite, by clicking through to the Virgin Atlantic tag on our articles.
