Wondering if anyone has had experience with this.

i have a booking on VA which is followed by a separate booking on SIA. Does anyone know if VA will interline my bags ??

Show check-in agent your booking reference for subsequent SQ flight and the agent might be check your bag through to subsequent SQ flight.

My experience of separate tickets and requesting baggage interlining goes back a couple of years but the blunt answer was "no". Staff are not trained to do this. My flights were VA to VA.

Considering that in the days of Ansett the staff bent over backwards to interline baggage and issue partner airline boarding passes, VA has a lot to learn about interline handling.

I can do SQ TO VA but couldn't do VA to SQ. Usually depends on the ground staff TBH.

If you have status and can go to a priority check-in you are more likely to have luck.

I've done it numerous times (being Canberran its often better to have a separate CBR> SYD/MEL booking to the international booking) and have generally managed to have it checked through to the end destination with Singapore. However if there is another airline in the mix (in my case Turkish Airlines) I have to check in and check through with Singapore in SYD/MEL again.

Having said that friends checking in at the standard desks have had trouble with a VA/SIA flight that I was able to check through for.
