Heads up if you rely on AMEX Platinum Card's travel insurance

These days the travel insurance provided for the AMEX Platinum cards is underwritten by Chubb.

Researching the PDS for the policy, Hypertension (high blood pressure) is not an acceptable pre-existing medical condition yet if you review Chubb's own travel insurance policy PDS it is an acceptable pre-existing medical condition providing you do not have any heart disease issues or diabetes! High Cholesterol is an acceptable pre-existing medical condition in both policies underwritten by Chubb.

So if you travel and rely on the travel insurance policy provided for the AMEX Platinum card and are taking medication for high blood pressure you might want to think about purchasing a totally separate travel insurance policy for peace of mind
