Pretty sure the use of the Business lounge means the Domestic Business Lounge in T3 not the International Business Lounge in T1, so you would clear immigration and pick up your bags, go to T3 and clear airside security, then head to the lounge. (Although not sure if you can take large suitcases through the X-Ray in T3).
The AusBT article stipulates "This also applies to domestic lounge access after arriving on an international flight with Qantas, Emirates, Jetstar or any Oneworld airline such as British Airways and Cathay Pacific"

That was always my assumption - I read the OP as meaning arriving on a domestic flight with checked bags and no onward journey (or connected onward flight). I've occasionally dropped in with carry on bags so as to make a few quick calls in comfort - but I wouldn't do it if I had a large checked bag...
It's really not a benefit designed for those with luggage. As others have said, it will be picked up off the belt by baggage services staff and held at their desk. But there is always the chance someone will make off with it.
Coming from a QF int flight at SYD int airport, xrays will be done at T1, IF you want to catch the transfer bus from int terminal to dom terminal on the extreme right hand side of the T1 terminal, near the QF freight area.
When your QF int flight arrives, you clear immi, and go to the T1 transfer zone, where they can issue you with BP if you haven't got them, and then your bags are xrayed at T1. so you effectively bypass having to do xray screening at T3 after arriving on an int flight.

Hi,
Have recently reached Platinum QFF and I understand that I can now use the business lounge on arrival in Sydney.
What do you do about your luggage as it will be going round and round waiting to be picked up?
