I visit Japan quarterly for work, so I got all my ducks in as row and applied for the Japan Trusted Traveller program (TTP).
I submitted the application in January through the website. But now it's two months later, and as far as the site advises, my application still hasn't been looked at for preliminary inspection. Has anyone else applied for this, and if so, what sort of timeframe was involved?
The date of my initial trip has come and gone, so do you reckon I should withdraw the application and resubmit with a new arrival date, or just persevere with this one? There doesn't seem to be any 'human' to check this with...
FYI, I got a human response saying the system was overwhelmed with demand. They had initially estimated a 30 day preliminary investigation, but this had blown out to as much as 90 days... but to stay tuned for notification.
The passport control delays at NRT have got worse and worse over the past few years in my experience, with luck you can get TTP registered and jump the queue. Real shame as travelling in Japan is always worth the wait... but even better if there is no wait :)
